Welcome to the Center for Higher Education

The Center for Higher Education (Zentrum für HochschulBildung, zhb) is a central scientific unit consisting of the four departments "Disability and Studies", "Foreign Languages", "Academic Teaching & Faculty Development" and "Continuing Education". These departments offer you a variety of seminars, coaching programs as well as education programs. These are closely linked to three university chairs where comprehensive research is conducted on the services offered, ensuring that you will receive the latest research findings at first hand.

Prof. Dr. Liudvika Leisyte receives the Emerald Literati Award 2018

30.08.2018 – Prof. Liudvika Leišytė was awarded with the Highly Commended Paper Emerald Literati Award 2018 for her article in Learning Organization: Leisyte, L., Vilkas, M., Staniskiene, E. & Zostautiene, D. (2017). Balancing countervailing processes at a Lithuanian university. The Learning Organization, 24(5), 327-339.
The article focuses on understanding the countervailing processes for enhancing academic excellence and market-orientation processes of standardisation and performance management at a university. This article shows how and if organisational learning occurs balancing these two processes in the university setting.
